OPTOMETRIST – PRIVATE OPHTHALMOLOGY

The Opportunity


We’re looking for a qualified Optometrist to provide high quality care in our practice. You’ll work independently with a supervising Ophthalmologist to assess and manage patients in the clinic. Day-to-day, you’ll examine and manage routine patients assessed for cataract surgery. You’ll also have skills in assessing intraocular pressure, visual function tests, full ocular examination, fundal exam, optic disc assessment and analysis of OCT and Humphrey visual fields. A large part of your role will be managing pre- and post-op cataract patients.

 

About you

 

Skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role include: Bachelor of Applied Science (Optometry) with therapeutic qualifications
(or equivalent degree eligible for registration as an optometrist in NZ), current registration and practicing certificate (or eligible to apply for),
two years’ experience working as an Optometrist would be desirable, advanced computer literacy, ability to work efficiently under pressure.
