Reinventing classic shapes

The latest Ferragamo Eyewear collection combines aesthetics and technicality, reinventing classic shapes while retaining its Italian heritage. The brand’s Gancini, a symbol deeply associated with Salvatore Ferragamo, is now integrated into the hinge of the acetate frame. Featuring a metal plaque engraved with the new Ferragamo logo and a milled extruded cylinder, it recreates the motif on the end pieces. ‘Gancini’ is Italian for ‘little hooks’ and was introduced by the brand’s namesake founder in the 1950s, inspired by his Florence headquarters’ ornate ironwork gates and hand-tooled hooks for tethering horses.
